Because of the growing poverty, many families are being burdened with unbearable financial problems. What’s worse is that even the children are suffering because they are only given little allowance for school, where they are hoping to be educated and recover from their scarcity. But how will these youngsters learn if the only thing that is revolving inside their brains is that their stomachs need something to digest. So instead of indulging fulfilling plates, they are spending their coins on junk foods for these are a lot cheaper than rice meals and these are what their allowance can afford every day. Because this type of routine, these young people are more likely to develop health crisis such as bad eating habits and obesity added that these types of foods are jam-packed with heaping salts and monosodium glutamate (MSG) and cups of sugar which are contained in soft drinks. They are also under the risk of developing kidney ailments, diabetes, hepatitis and worst, varying cancers. Do their parents know about their situation while they are not under their courtesy? Parents must provide their kids foods that will not risk their health and raising them with proper guidance to deal with this kind of dilemma. With appropriate supervision, they can somehow aid the worsening of their poverty and prevent further problems that may hinder the success of their future leaders.

Dear Professor
Dear Professor,
During the second term of my study in De La Salle University, I still find myself in trouble for I am having hard times with one thing --- English. I was wondering about how I am supposed to face my future as a student in such a prestigious school if I don’t have the skills of dealing with the last thing we are going to do as a student which is thesis-writing. I’ve been so problematic, and then you came. You have enlightened me to look at a better opportunity and prepare myself to face one of my greatest endeavors. Just as they say, there are no problems cannot be solved.
Since then, I’m really a “trying-hard” in writing papers. I can manage my grammars somehow but what really bothers me a lot is that I can’t put my words altogether to create an effective paragraph. But Miss, on your class, I really learned more than I could ever imagine in an English Writing class. I thought it was just another boring subject but I was wrong because somehow, I was able to see my skills improving compared to the works that I have written before. Also, I have achieved some of the learning results that I really desire to attain by attending your class. Within this blog, I posted all the essays that have assisted me to change entirely the way I compose. All these articles I’ve written are all evidences of my development for each became exceptional and somewhat revolutional on my experience. Aside from these desired learning results (DLR) I have accomplished, I still have some which I wasn’t able to reach such as the proper use of words to some extent that would really capture the interest of the readers. So in resolution, I planned to create essays frequently so that I can be fluent with my words and enhance my performance in this field. I must also include that my fingers on my hands and toes are barely enough to count the things I’ve learned about the processes of writing an effective composition. Some are because of the lessons discussed and the revisions you made to my major essays. Because of these modifications such as the acknowledgment of my sources and adjustment of my outlines and my chosen words and spellings, I became aware of the inaccuracy of my works that led me to strive harder to develop my skills.
So I thank you, my dear professor, for being my mentor, for being someone whom I can hold on, and for being an inspiration to pursue my dream of becoming an effective writer and put myself together to face the greatest encounters of my life. I owe you a lot. I’ll never forget you. We love you so much.
Your truthful apprentice,
Kirk Ivan Alistair Gregorio Baesa

Introducing the most amazing iPhone yet
Is your phone smart enough to do extraordinary things you can ever think of? Perhaps not. But have you ever heard of these genius gadgets called “smart phones”? Then, you better continue reading and discover the brainy iPhones!
From the brilliance of Steve Jobs, the iPhone is a smart phone created by Apple Inc. to compete against its contenders such as Windows and Samsung in the field of gadget innovation. It got its name from Apple’s preceding product names having a trademark of starting with the letter “i”, thus being called as “iDevices” which originated from Ken Segall, an advertising veteran (How did the iPhone get its name?, 2010). And after several years, the iPhone evolved into generations of incrementing features and quality. Today, the iPhone 4S, the most amazing iPhone yet, can be considered as the most ground-breaking technology of the fruit company as it changes and revolutionizes itself again --- ever in a mobile phone.
As one of the world’s giant companies who get into the battlefield, Apple rises again as they introduce their hottest innovation to the world --- the iPhone 4S. Being Steve Jobs’, the former CEO’s final product and Tim Cook’s first, it becomes revolutionary as it is jam-packed with heaps of brand new features.
To get started, one of the phone’s newest and best features is the camera. From the iPhone 4 having a 5-megapixel camera, Apple made it even more exciting by installing an astounding 8-MP camera on the iPhone 4S’s rear yet its front-facing camera remains VGA. Every shot produces eye-piercing sharp and vibrant images. They also increased its white balance so that you can capture photos almost exactly the same as what you are seeing in the real world as if you were viewing through a transparent phone. Second is the Retina Display which is also from its predecessor which became suitable for the camera to display crystal clear images --- even texts can be viewed in their crisp details. The third one is the innovatory “Siri”. It is your intelligent virtual assistant that can understand and interpret whatever you say to it exactly the way you mean it but it is only effective as long as it is said with the selected language. Fourth is the A5 chip. This chip is dual-core just like what is used in the mouth-watering iPad2 so you can experience computer-fast speed all at your fingertips. Another new feature is the iOS5 which is now also available in other iDevices. This new firmware fixed several types of bugs and brought new software advancements to the devices as well (See all the amazing new things iPhone can do, 2011). The sixth one is the antenna. Because of some reported reception issues of the iPhone 4 due to the “death grip” --- a position of holding a phone that causes its antenna to be grounded, this losing its signal, the antenna of the iPhone 4S is remodeled to aid and improve the reception performance of the iPhone and prevent the death grip issue. Seventh is the shape. The iPhone 4S almost has the slim, sleek shape of its predecessor except the few black cuts which is the revamping of its antenna (iPhone 4S Seems to Fix 'Death Grip' Antenna Issue, 2011). And lastly, the iPhone 4S now comes in three different storage capacity options --- 16GB, 32GB, and a whooping 64GB! (What's Really NEW in The iPhone 4S?, 2011) Now, that’s a gigantic storage to stock up your high-definition photos. But behind all these jaw-dropping goodness lies its cost. Not too surprising, but it has the same price as the iPhone 4 during its first release (Apple iPhone 4S Features, Specifications & Price, 2011). So if you want to experience a taste of heaven, you better start feeding you piggy banks.
In conclusion to the iPhone 4S, it got all the best tech-delights you can find out there such as high-performance and delightful stuffs --- all in a mobile phone.

Don't you want to jailbreak your iDevice?
Jailbreaking is a form of hacking an Apple device to free it from the company’s restrictions such as the ability to install paid applications without even putting down a cent, and also changing the device’s boring and too common theme, all through the use of sets of programs and tools called custom kernels (iOS Jailbreaking, ND). It also has some significance because users will be given a chance to modify their devices and customize them according to their preferences. Although jailbreaking Apple products is prohibited by the company due to its risks (Terms About Jailbreaking, 2011), it may also be beneficial because of the new features it may bring (Jailbreaking Your iPhone: The pros and cons, 2010).
The risks or rather, the cons of jailbreaking an iDevice includes losing its authenticity because of the modifications that will be made, danger of degrading its system security thus, probability of installing malwares. Since the device is modified which is against Apple, its warranty will also be voided (Jailbreaking Your iPhone: The Pros and Cons, 2009).
The cons might be a big thing to be worried about but there are also pros to be considered and to be enjoyed. By jailbreaking, several advanced features will be unlocked: all the apps from the App Store will be all free (even the paid ones!); also, a new store called Cydia will be installed where a user can download the best stuffs an iDevice could ever have; and the best part is, if the user is still worried about the battling cons, he/she can fully reverse the hack and bring back the device’s authenticity as well as its warranty ( 5 Reasons to Jailbreak Your iPhone and 5 Reasons Not, 2010).
With all these cons and pros, it’s all up to the user whether to jailbreak or not. So if ever you have one on your hands, I will ask you, don’t you want to jailbreak your iDevice?

Clash of the Titans
We're already in the 21st century and the technology is getting greater and even bigger, and during this period, two giants arise to compete against each other. Producing outstanding products and innovating technology for several decades, Apple Inc. presents the iPad2 and Samsung proudly sets their Galaxy Tab in the battlefield. But wait, who will win to prove which one is better?
In fact, both have almost the same functions and features --- they're just branded and innovated by two different companies. Both have the same purpose as being a mini hand-held computer that can run almost the same applications, they have nearly similar hardware components such as touch screens and physical buttons all in one tablet. Also, these two awesome devices can connect to the internet through their built-in Wi-Fi and 3G. And what's epic is that both are hack-able through a process called jailbreaking or rooting if you want so advanced techie features to make your device outstanding to others! But the two devices are not really that similar because they also have some differences and uniqueness from each other such as their appearance because in iPad2, the physical buttons are just for power, home, and volume, the size is a lot bigger compared to Galaxy Tab and the weight is a little bit heavier while the Galaxy Tab's are the same but added some 3 more buttons and these buttons are functioning as sensors including the home button. It is smaller and lighter than the iPad2. Their processing speed also differs as well as their exclusive features from their companies. If you may notice, the iPad2 is dramatically faster than the Galaxy Tab but the feature that the Galaxy Tab beats its competitor is that it is also functioning as a phone! And lastly, the price --- iPad2 costs around P30-40k while Galaxy Tab costs only around P15-18k. So in conclusion, both are better in different ways and in their own uniqueness.
